Around about 1980, my friends and I moved into a large and only slightly run-down house in Norfolk: The Old Rectory.
Paul and Jane already had an infant daughter, Miranda; a year or so later they added a young son, Daniel.
Twenty-five years later I returned to the Old Rectory to celebrate Miranda's wedding.
