Obituary Watch: Wallace Seawell
Wallace Lacy Seawell was born on September 16 1916 in Atlanta, Georgia. As a boy he moved with his mother to Florida and attended art school with the intention of becoming a portrait painter...
When he joined the studio of Paul Hesse, a leading West Coast photographer, Seawell also began working for film studios and fan magazines, photographing Lucille Ball, Doris Day and other stars.
Seawell's reputation also led to commissions from President Lyndon B Johnson, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, the Shah of Iran and Ronald and Nancy Reagan, all of whom posed for his camera in his antiques-filled home.
A dapper dresser with a very proper manner, he had a way of working with celebrities that drew memorable expressions and poses from them.
For many years Seawell shared his house with the actress Carol Channing and her husband and manager Charles Lowe.
In the late 1990s he became entangled in their highly public divorce when Carol Channing accused her husband of spending all his money on Seawell.
Both men denied this, Seawell noting that he already had plenty of money.
Wallace Seawell, who died on May 28, never married.

Craig is pretty sure that, by having a girlfriend and being top with guys when occasionally fucking them it means he is straight.
He even didn't consider the word "BI" What? Yes. At his tiny mind, gays are those passive queers, drags or versatile. Poor guy.![]()
Not perhaps the first thought you'd expect to find expressed beneath a Telegraph banner - or indeed the last.
But as many of the paper's more loudly-disgusted readers are discovering, the pursuit of Web 2.0 means exposure to blogs revealing a range of lifestyles you never thought to trip across in the Home Counties: up to and including the whimsical musings of a Latin Cleaner who supplements his student grant by doing housework in the nude.

The trend for celebrities to lend their name to a range of clothing continues its untrammelled way.
(Not all of them entirely laughable: did you know that John Malkovich has his own online brand, for example?)
But where will it end?Enliven a dull train journey imagining items from lines by Amy Winehouse, Bette Midler, Gilbert and George, Lily Savage, George Melly, Maggie Hambling, Chris Eubank...
