"The Prince of Wales and his mistress Camilla Parker Bowles face a call to apologise for their adultery at the General Synod of the Church of England next week.."
That, or something very like it, is what I swear I read in the Independent sometime over the weekend. (I can't check because the article in question is hidden behind their stoopid pay-wall.)
It would be the call, rather than the apology, that would take place at the Synod, of course.
But just for a moment I had this glorious vision of two middle-aged adulterers, clothed in immaculately-tailored sackcloth and a tasteful daub of ashes, kneeling penitent before the robed and righteous might of a wrathful church militant...

Gay Plaudits...
...to Philip Johnson for wangling the Telegraph's first obituary reference to a surviving male lover
...to SpongeBob SquarePants for keeping quiet during attacks on his sexuality by right-wing American morons
...to Elton John and David Furnish for not only being voted Snappy Snap's most loving couple but for following that with an announcement that they want to get married
...to Chris Smith for not only surviving the furore surrounding his announcement that he is HIV+, but dealing with rumours that his statement was perhaps not entirely voluntary
...to Julian Clary for surviving a kidnap plot involving -quote- broken pool cues-quote- but also for announcing the title of his autobiography: A Young Man's Passage
