Now, admittedly, getting photographed in a quasi-Nazi uniform is not the smartest move when you're third in line to a throne - but we've always known Harry's not the cleverest kid on the block, patently taking after his father in that respect.

But can we please keep a sense of proportion? Compare and contrast these two images. On the left, the protagonist of one of London's most lauded West End shows. On the right, a hapless young toff at a private fancy dress party...

(I suspect that much of this hooray hoohah actually derives from nothing more cogent than Fleet Street's understandable desperation to find a story, any story, that isn't tsunami-related: avant moi le deluge as it were.)

Guess who's to blame for my internet access being down? Got it in one - BT.

Could I sue them for £1400, I ask myself?

And the thing is: I'm sitting here admiring the sleek design of my new computer - for which I have no compatible software, and no internet access.

It's very lovely but...what is it for?

Great news: Steve Jobs announces the cheapest Mac ever - the Mac Mini, priced at just £339.

And when does he do this? Why, on the very day I take delivery of a 20" G5 iMac with a 160Gb hard drive and 768meg of ram, priced just a few quid short of £1400.

Ah well.

My internet access, which is flakey at best, seems to have packed up altogether in the last few days.

The cause of the problem would be a great deal easier to diagnose if my computer (an extremely aged Mac, more crone than clone) could get its shit together for more than quarter of an hour, tops, at any one time.

What's that you say? Nature's way of telling to invest in a new computer? Why, I do believe you're right.
